HUSQVARNA is steeped in a century of history.

And 100 years is a pretty long time in the scheme of motorcycles – long enough to learn a thing or two about how to build a beautiful bike.

That was in evidence at EICMA last month, where the KTM-owned manufacturer unveiled a pair of stunners – the Svartpilen 701 and the Vitpilen 701 Aero Concept.

And while they may have gleaned the most attention on the EICMA and Motorcycle Live stands, there was no ignoring the other eye-catching models on display.

So read on to see five examples of Husqvarna’s excellent design and attention to detail…

Svartpilen 701 & 401

We all knew this was coming. Revealed in concept form at EICMA 2017, the Svartpilen 701 is the bigger brother of the 401. Featuring the 690 Duke’s pokey powertrain, combined with a shortened wheelbase, rumour has it that this will be one absolute wheelie machine.

The 401, meanwhile, was launched at the beginning of this year, and is based on the brilliant 390 Duke platform.

Svartpilen, meaning ‘black arrow’ in Husqvarna’s native Swedish, perfectly encapsulates the two models dark, sleek styling and compact chassis.

The 701 is slightly beefier than it’s smaller sibling, with an asymmetric flat-tracker inspired number board on its rear right-hand flank and a stubby exhaust.
