Classics Galore at Shuttleworth Auction
Nearly 200 iconic bikes ranging from Vincents to RGVs and 50s to 1500s up for grabs at the upcoming Old Warden sale
A huge assortment of historic bikes to suit all tastes and budgets will be going under the hammer – many without reserve – at the Shuttleworth Summer Motorcycle Sale, which is being held at Old Warden Aerodrome in Bedfordshire on Sunday 14th July.
Nearly 200 bikes are on offer, ranging from the usual classic Vincents and BSAs and ‘60s Triumphs and Nortons, but also including a huge assortment of ‘modern classics’ such as Suzuki’s RGV250 and Yamaha’s 1998 R1 and even extending up to as-new modern models for example a ‘delivery mileage’ BMW M1000R!

And, with many of the machines being offered with no reserve, there’s sure to be something for everyone – whatever your budget!
As we write, 170 bikes are up for auction. For traditional classic buffs these include a 1945 Indian Chief (guide price £25-30,000), 1927 BSA ‘sloper’, 1952 Vincent Rapide (£32-35,000).
From the 1960s two of the highlights are a Triumph T120 Bonneville (£7000) and tempting BSA Gold Star project bike (being offered without reserve).
From the 1970s our eyes were drawn to a 1978 Kawasaki Z1000A2 (£5-7000), not one but THREE Moto Morini 3 ½ s (£2-7000) and a 1974 Honda Elsinore 250 (no reserve).
From the 1980s we couldn’t help but be drawn to a 1983 Suzuki GSX1100 Katana (£4-6000) and 1982 Hesketh V1000 (£8-10,000)
From the 1990s there is an equally tempting, original 1992 Honda FireBlade (£5-7000), 1993 Suzuki RGV250P (with no reserve), and an assortment of no reserve barn finds including a 1990 GSX-R750L.
While those from the 2000s range from a ‘Final Edition’ Ducati 998S (£10-15K), 2003 MV F4 750 EVO (also £10-15K), right up to date a ‘delivery mileage’ 2023 Ducati V4R (£30-35K) and BMW M1000R (£18-20K).
There is even a raft of tiddlers on offer ranging from a 1973 Honda ST70 Dax (£2-4000), not one but TWO 1977 Puch 50cc Grand Prix Specials (£4-7000) and even a rare 1997 Honda CB50 (£5000+).

All the bikes will be available for viewing and inspection on Saturday 13th July from 10am – 5pm and from 10am on Sunday 14th July until the auction commences at 11am. Entry is via catalogue (£10 admits two) available on the day and will also be live streamed on the auction house’s website and YouTube channel.
