Driver jailed for biker death

A CAR DRIVER has been jailed for 24 weeks for causing the death of a motorcyclist.

Charles Hewitt, 34, failed to see motorcyclist Mick Flynn, 48, at a notorious accident blackspot, Lincoln Crown Court heard.

Hewitt, of Gainsborough, admitted causing death by careless driving at a junction of the A631 in September last year. As well as the custodial sentence, Hewitt was banned from driving for 18 months.

He was told by Judge Michael Heath: "You did not see Mr Flynn. You ought to have done."
