Ducati offers MotoGP tuition in 2024 riding experiences
The 2024 Ducati Riding Experiences are now open for bookings, with tuition from MotoGP riders included in some of the racing packages
The Ducati Riding Experience, or DRE, is back again for 2024, 21 years after its inception, with dates now open for bookings.
As ever, the 2024 DRE offers a range of experiences and packages to suit the motorcycling desires of people with a variety of tastes and preferences.
For younger and less experienced riders, DRE Rookie returns for its second year, after debuting in 2023. Aimed primarily at improving confidence and building technique, DRE Rookie is exclusively available to riders aged 18-24 who hold an A2 licence.
DRE Rookie will take place at Modena Autodrome in 2024, where it will be alongside DRE Road, which has two main purposes. The first is to improve the general on-road level of the riders taking part, and the second is to give the participants a taste of the features, equipment, and technology included on contemporary Ducati road bikes. The new Ducati DesertX Rally and Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono are set to be available on the DRE Road course.
Stepping from the open road to the closed circuit, DRE Track Warm Up offers pretty much what its name suggests: basic tutoring for those who are new to riding on the track. A DRE Track Warm Up course will mostly utilise Ducati Panigale V2 machinery.
For more experienced track riders, DRE Racetrack is returning for 2024 in three different levels, depending on experience: Track Evo, Track Evo2, and Track Master. The first and second get Panigale V2 bikes, and the latter uses the Panigale V4 S.
The Track Master tier gives riders access to body-worn cameras, data acquisition, and two-to-one tuition with what Ducati describes as “expert riders”.
One-to-one tuition is also available, and opting for this also opens up the possibility to use the top-of-the-range Panigale V4 R, or the top-of-the-top-of-the-range Superleggera V4. Oh, and, in these cases, the tuition comes from the likes of ex-MotoGP rider and Moto2 Grand Prix winners Karel Abraham and Alex De Angelis, as well as reigning Italian Superbike Champion Lorenzo Zanetti, and Franco Battaini. Ducati MotoGP test rider Michele Pirro is also on the list of tutors, and with the Bologna brand’s in-season Grand Prix testing limited for next season by the new concessions, and Pirro’s ability to wildcard removed by the same cause, the #51 should have a little more time to help you understand the intricacies of Misano's Carro hairpin.
DRE Adventure is also returning for 2023, but its dates are yet to be announced.
