IAM offering free advanced riding lessons
Ideal if you want to get your riding ready for summer
TO COINCIDE with the start of spring and the return of some decent weather, the Institute of Advanced Motorists is giving away free advanced riding taster sessions.
Many IAM RoadSmart groups across the country are offering free skills taster sessions to riders that are interested in getting some advanced training and assessment.
The 90-minute sessions, which take place with a qualified IAM RoadSmart assessor, are open to any rider with a full licence and will be available from now until June 30. Level of experience isn’t a barrier, so whether you’ve got 30 years riding under your belt, or you’ve only recently passed you test, you’ll be welcome to the introductory sessions, which are designed to help you develop new skills to make you a better, safer rider.
Riders will use their own bikes on local roads and during the sessions, are able to discuss anything about their riding with their assessor. Participants will also be given a briefing, plus an overview of IAM RoadSmart principles before the riding session, with a debrief at the end.
The taster sessions are designed to be low-pressure introduction on how to make riding more enjoyable, stress-free and fun. Anyone that takes the free taster course will then get 10% off the full advanced riders course, which usually costs £149.
