Indian announces new motorcycle rental scheme on Portuguese island of Madeira
A new motorcycle rental programme has been set up by the American manufacturer Indian Motorcycle and 7M Rides on the Portuguese island of Madeira.
Indian Motorcycle has announced a new bike rental scheme on the Portuguese island of Madeira, with a selection of bikes from across Indian's range.
The motorcycle rental scheme from Indian is in partnership with 7M Rides, and includes solo one-day rentals to guided, personalised group tours.
In total, there are 15 bikes to be rented, with five different models covered. These include the Indian Roadmaster, Indian Challenger, Indian Super Chief, Indian FTR, and Indian Scout.
Each bike offers something different, with the Roadmaster being suited to two-up touring, and the flat-track derived FTR being more geared towards a one-rider thrash around some of Madeira’s open roads.
The Super Chief then offers a similar experience to the Roadmaster, as another Thunderstroke-powered two-up, while the Challenger’s PowerPlus engine and performance tyres and brakes make for a more focused tour.
Finally, the Scout’s low seat height makes it one of the more accessible options from a size perspective, while its handling characteristics - designed to be nimble but stable thanks to a smaller wheelbase and low centre of gravity - should give the confidence to fully enjoy the Portuguese island.
Whatever bike you choose, you will be riding it against the backdrop of what Indian calls the “magical island of Madeira”.
Certainly, if you’re planning a trip to Madeira, this would be a pretty solid way to turn that holiday into a motorcycling holiday - at least for one day.
