Motorcyclist killed in high-speed chase after collision with police vehicle

THIS HORRIFIC footage shows the moment 30-year-old Robert Lee Clark, Jr. lost his life after a police chase in Summerville, South Carolina.

Clark was being pursued by deputy James Vansant after reportedly going 66mph in a 45mph zone. Vansant has claimed that the chase reached speeds of 90mph as he hits the motorcyclist twice, causing him to lose control of his bike.



The motorcyclist was declared dead at the scene and the sheriff's office have stated that the collision was due to Clark braking heavily in front of Vansant and then missing a gear.

The incident is currently being investigated by South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Recorded on the police vehicle's dash-cam, the clip was released by the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office following the incident along with this message on their Facebook page:
