Officer in court over fatal pursuit charge
Greater Manchester Police officer charged in connection with the death of a motorcyclist
A GREATER MANCHESTER police officer will stand trial at Liverpool Crown Court this week charged in connection with the death of a motorcyclist who crashed during a police pursuit.
Pc Ian Bruce, 33, faces one allegation of dangerous driving following an investigation by the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC).
Pc Bruce was involved in a pursuit of motorcyclist Alan Stuart Long on August 1st, 2008. The chase ended when Mr Long crashed his 1000cc Yamaha motorcycle. He died later in hospital as a result of his injuries.
