Redding and Espargaro put new Piaggio MP3 through its paces at Mugello

LAST WEEK our Al rode Piaggio's new MP3 through Paris and inadvertently joined in the French semi final World Cup celebrations...

Of course Al rode sensibly and completely within the speed limits...

But Piaggio thinks the maxi-scoot is more than just an inner city commuter, and so decided to take advantage of sister manufacturer Aprilia's MotoGP riders, Aleix Espargaro and Scott Redding, and sent them to Mugello to put the three wheeler through its paces.

Watch as they throw it around the Italian track, dragging knees and hitting the apex.

'Three wheels, same fun' flashes up on the screen as Espargaro pulls into the pits, signalling to his pit crew that he'd rather the three wheeler than his MotoGP bike...
