Stars of motorcycle sports combine to raise funds
Motorcycle sports stars from MotoGP, WSBK, Trials and Paris Dakar have combined to raise funds to help out during COVID-19
MOTORCYCLE racing royalty both past and present are combining to raise funds for healthcare charities in the #PilotosSolidarios.
The solidarity auction is being organised by the Royal Spanish Motorcycling Federation and begins tomorrow (5th June) and will run for ten days. The bidding takes place on the online auction platform Catawiki, who have waived their normal commission to help the cause.
Bidders can take a punt on a variety of lots, including a classic Bultaco Sherpa T 250cc dirt bike from Manuel Casado, to Marc Marquez’ Repsol Honda racing leathers. Even five-time World Superbike Champion Jonathan Rea is getting involved, by donating two VIP passes for any World Superbike round. Cal Crutchlow has even got involved and is donating his rear wheel rim that was damaged in a crash at Motoland Aragon in 2016 – good job Crashlow!
All funds raised from the auction will go directly to Cruz Red Responds to fight the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.
