Triumph's new Welsh Adventure school - first look
We're at the launch event for Triumph UK's adventure training school in Wales...
British bike firm Triumph has been working hard on its adventure bike props over the past decade or so - and now it's backing that up with a brand-new off-road training school in Wales. Who better to send than a local? So our man Shaun Pope is trying the school out today for us. Here's how he's getting on so far.
"First thoughts are you wouldn’t take a GS on a trackday, so a big heavy 1200cc adventure bike may put people off from tearing around the coal tips of South Wales, especially if it’s an experience day where there are lighter alternatives.
"The Triumph experience is more for existing owners or prospective owners to find out just how capable their Tigers and Scramblers are."
"So far I’ve tried the street Scrambler and with the Pirelli Scorpion rally tyres it’s a formidable little bit of kit.
"The Tigers will be saved for later today but the way the Dakar-hardened instructors are throwing them around, they won’t be lacking in performance either.
"And it’s stopped raining!"
More on the new school once Shaun's finished his day...
