VICTORY has recalled several 2014 models in the US over a fault which could cause engines to seize.

Engine crankcases may not have been machined correctly, resulting in insufficient crankshaft clearance, according to the US’ National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Models subject to the recall include the Boardwalk, Cross Country, Cross Country 8-Ball, Hammer 8-Ball, Jackpot, Judge, Ness Cross Country, Vegas 8-Ball, Vision and Gunner.

Affected bikes were manufactured between January 22 and April 25 this year. Polaris estimates 1.5% of those units will suffer the problem.

The problem came to light when an engine stopped running during quality control tests on March 26.
