We are just days away from Honda finally announcing its V3 E-Compressor, which will be getting a full reveal at EICMA on Tuesday.

We still know very little about the bike, with things like engine specs, weight, and expected public availability all still unknown. We can tell you, though, that should the bike land in its current state, it’ll retain the single-sided swingarm (derived from the CB1000R) that we first saw at EICMA. It also seems to retain the same trellis frame as the original concept, making it an interesting model from a brand that primarily opts for twin-spar and twin-beam designs.

What is still to be deduced is whether Honda has stuck with a naked platform for the model, or a partially faired bike, as has proved popular with the Yamaha XSR900 GP. Given that several chassis elements seem to be carried over from the CB1000R (non-Hornet type), most commentators are leaning toward the V3 continuing with that format.

We also don’t know the bike's official name, and while many outlets, Visordown included, have referred to it as the V3 Compressor or V3 E-Compressor, the chances are it’ll end up being officially called something else. Last year, Honda filed trademarks for the names V3R and E-Compressor. Some outlets are pointing to V3R being the bike’s moniker, with E-Compressor being the name of the powerplant.

Only time will tell on all fronts, but we don’t have long to wait. The new V3 from Honda will be getting revealed on Tuesday, November 4, at 10 am CET (9 am UK time), and Visordown will be on hand to bring you all the details as we have them.
