It’s a good time to be Royal Enfield at the moment…
Royal Enfield is on a roll at the moment as it posts a huge surge in sales for September 2022 thanks to the launch of the new Scram 411 and Hunter 350
Royal Enfield remains well on course for another breakthrough year after posting staggering growth in global sales for September 2022, some 145% up on the same month in 2021.
A total of 82,097 Royal Enfield models were purchased over the 30 day period, compared with 33,529 units in September 2021 representing more than double the gains.
Unsurprisingly, the vast majority of these sales have come from Royal Enfield’s native Indian market, which represents a whopping 73,646, with the rest totalling 8,451 units.
The big upsurge can be explained by a rush of new models emerging from Royal Enfield in recent weeks, led by the new Royal Enfield Scram 411 - the first new model to spin-off from the Himalayan platform - and the Royal Enfield Hunter 350.
The latter follows on from the Meteor 350 and Classic 350 - launched in 2020 and 2021 respectively - both of which have been roaring successes for Royal Enfield domestically, while the Meteor 350 has also connected well with buyers in the UK and is currently contesting the BMW R 1250 GS Adventure for status as the UK’s best selling full-size motorcycle.
One of the world’s longest running motorcycle companies, Royal Enfield has enjoyed an image metamorphosis in recent years, with its signature classic looks and a focus on providing no frills, good value motorcycling earning it a loyal and growing customer base among those seeking something cheaper than the competition.
Moreover, the Scram 411 and Hunter 350 represent just the start of a significant new model drive from Royal Enfield with a number of other arrivals on the way, including the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 - a more contemporary, off-road focused version of the popular ADV - the Super Meteor 650 and Shotgun 650.
Royal Enfield has also tentatively confirmed a Himalayan 650 is also in the pipeline.
