Suzuki offers new Service Activated Warranty for new and used bikes
A new Service Activated Warranty is now available for Suzuki owners, meaning their bikes' warranty will extend on being serviced.
Suzuki has announced a new “Service Activated Warranty” programme, which ensures a bike’s warranty will be extended when it is serviced.
Suzuki’s standard warranty is for three years, and its new Service Activated Warranty means that, when a Suzuki motorcycle is serviced at an authorised Suzuki dealer after that three-year warranty has expired, its warranty will be extended beyond those three years.
Each time the warranty on a Suzuki motorcycle is extended by service, the warranty extension lasts until “the next qualifying service,” a Suzuki press release reads.
The release continues: “[The warranty] is then simply renewed again, up to a maximum vehicle age of seven years or 70,000 miles, whichever comes first.”
Suzuki’s Service Activated Warranty is does not come at any extra cost to the bike’s owner, and is also available on second-hand bikes - even with expired warranty and service history gaps. Such a second-hand bike will get a new one-year warranty, activated if it is serviced at an authorised Suzuki dealer and “goes through a Suzuki Motorcycle Health Check in the first instance,” Suzuki says. That one-year warranty will activate 30 days from the date of the service.
Denis Houston, Director Aftersales at Suzuki GB, said: “At Suzuki, customer experience and retention are paramount, the launch of Service Activated Warranty will certainly enhance this for the future, ensuring our customers get the best levels of service, fitment of genuine parts and avail of the expertise within our dealer network rather than going to a non-franchised repairer once their manufacturer warranty expires.
“Offering Service Activated Warranty is free of charge to owners, is unique, and we are very proud to offer this as a strong message in support of our customers.”
