The Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 has taken another win on the dirt, claiming the top step of the podium in the Maxi Trail category at the Baja Aragon off-road rally.

Making the feat even more special is that Pedrero is claimed to be riding a bone stock version of the large-capacity adventure machine, making it even more impressive is his achieving an overall finish in 21st place. More specifically, he finished in first position (out of nine) in the Maxi Trail category and 21st (out of 83) in the overall standings. Given that many of the other entries in the event would be much lighter rally bikes derived from 450cc enduro machines — or indeed lighter more focused middleweight adventure bikes, such as the Aprilia Tuareg 660 that won the Multicylinder class and finished 11th overall with Jacopo Cerruti — it really drives home the achievement.

The Baja Aragon is open to two and four-wheel competitors and is often seen as one of the toughest off-road races this side of the Dakar Rally thanks to the tough terrain and extreme heat encountered in the Spanish desert. Since 2013, the rally has taken place in the Teruel region, and the most recent event took in the Jiloca and Albarracín regions, and was referred to as the ‘XL edition’ of the rally.

Speaking after the race, Kolja Rebstock, Harley-Davidson Regional Vice President for EMEA, said:

“From Harley-Davidson we want to congratulate Joan and the whole team for having achieved such an accomplishment, what a great result! The 40th edition of the prestigious Baja Aragón is a historic milestone and has allowed us to demonstrate once again that the Pan America delivers unparalleled results both on, and, off-road.”
