2024 Husqvarna enduro range offers some differences to KTM

The 2024 Husqvarna enduro motorcycle range has launched, with many similarities, and some differences, to the previous 2024 KTM enduro launch.

The 2024 Husqvarna TE and FE enduro models have launched, with new suspension, injection technology on two-stroke models, and both a redesigned frame and redesigned subframe.

Most of the updates for the 2024 Husqvarna enduro models are comparable to the recent, equivalent KTM launch

That means the two-stroke TE motors get Throttle Body Injection (TBI), which is aimed at providing the sharpness of carburation with the smoothness of fuel injection.

There is also new suspension from WP, with their XACT Closed Cartridge front forks, while the new XACT rear shock saves 100g in weight over the previous edition, and is able to maintain a wheel travel of 300mm despite losing 15mm in its own length. Suspension at both ends is also adjustable without tools.

The updated chromium molybdenum steel frame has been designed “to work in harmony with the WP suspension,” an Husqvarna press release reads. Anti-squat characteristics have been worked on, and the flex of the frame has been altered.

As for the subframe, the construction is an aluminium-polyamide hybrid, which is a change over last year in a search for durability.

As with KTM’s 2024 enduros, the Husqvarna four-stroke FE models have their engines rotated two degrees rearwards in the frame compared to the previous generation motorcycle. Compared to 2023’s 27.6kg, the 2024 FE 250’s motor weighs in at 27.8kg, which is equal to the equivalent model in the 2024 KTM enduro range. For the 2024 350 FE (28.2kg), the engine is 0.6kg lighter than the KTM equivalent (2024 KTM 350 EXC-F engine weighs 28.8kg).

New graphics, bodywork and electronics are featured on all two-stroke TE and four-stroke FE models, although one-way quickshifters and traction control are both only available on the four-strokes.

Details such as the tyres and brakes are areas where Husqvarna strays from KTM on the 2024 enduro models. Whereas KTM uses Maxxis tyres (or Metzeler on the Six Days variants), for example, Husqvarna has chosen Michelin, and it has also paired GSK brake discs with Braktec callipers.
