GasGas has unveiled its first ever production rally bike, with the RX 450F building off the brand’s competitive success in 2022.

The RX 450 F will be GasGas’ first production rally machine inspired by its factory RC 450F race bike.

Its release comes after the Spanish brand’s success at the 2022 Dakar Rally, which was won by Sam Sunderland aboard an RC 450F.

As part of the Pierer Mobility Group, the RX 450F is of course essentially a KTM 450 Rally Replica wrapped in red paint- well, in this case it’s white paint with some red detailing, but the point stands.

Just like GasGas’ MotoGP, Moto3, and motocross entries, its rally programme uses KTM machinery rebadged as GasGas. For the production version of its rally bike, it is also the same.

That means that with the RX 450F, you get:

  • Super-light carbon fibre navigation tower
  • WP XACT Pro 7548 front fork
  • WP XACT Pro 7750 rear shock
  • Red anodized X-Trig triple clamps
  • Red Supersprox Stealth rear sprocket
  • Neken ‘bars
  • Akrapovic exhaust
  • Oversize Brembo brakes
  • GasGas branded Hinson clutch cover
  • Continental TKC 80 tires
  • Black anodized Excel rims
  • Optional sticker kit

The engine is the same one as used in the MC 450F motocross bike that Jorge Prado took to victory in this year’s MXGP of Portugal, and then onto third in the MXGP World Championship despite missing the Italian Grand Prix for a shoulder injury, and suffering with Covid over the last month or so.

The engine is controlled by an ECU which dulls the power to make it more manageable in unpredictable terrain where rideability takes priority over outright performance.
