Brough Superior AMB 001 deliveries are finally taking place
The first deliveries of the radical Brough Superior AMB 001 have begun to take place according to reports
BROUGH Superior is reported to have begun deliveries of its radical AMB 001 motorcycle. The bike is a collaboration between the motorcycle maker and iconic British car maker Aston Martin.
The bike was first revealed in the flesh at the EICMA show in Milan back in November 2019. Visordown was on hand to get a first look at the machine, and I think I owe Brough an apology. After commenting that it would never make it to production, I’m now searching around my house for a hat to eat!
Indeed, the bike did go into production, and the global pandemic granted Brough Superior and Aston Martin some extra time with the innovative machine for some all-important on-track testing. And the track is where the AMB 001 will be living out its' days – well, one or two of them might. It’s a track-only model, not homologated for road use, and as it's super-limited (just 100 examples will be produced) that’s probably for the best.
Aston Martin Brough Superior AMB 001 headline numbers
The AMB 001 boasts a 997cc, supercharged V-twin engine, helping the machine create more than 180bhp of peak power. Overall weight is very low for a machine of this type, with Brough quoting a 180kg dry figure.
As with all the models in the Brough Superior range, the devil really is in the detail, and that’s no different with this track-only model. Pretty much every aspect of the machine, from the footpegs to the brake levers is either bespoke built or ultra-high-spec kit.
With only 100 models being produced, the demand has been high for the new bike, although there is still a handful left available. Reports suggest that 10 AMB 001s are still available to order, so if you’ve got a £100,000 burning a hole in your bank account, get yourself over to the Brough website.
