The new V4 SP2 30° Anniversario 916 has already sold out, taking just four days for all 500 units to be snapped up.

The £37,195 bike looks back on Ducati’s most famous model with a new limited edition machine, although this is more than a simple case of a new paint job and limited edition certificate. To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the iconic 916, Ducati has fettled the new model with the inclusion of special parts throughout to help bolster it visually and on the track.

First up is the paint job on the bike, inspired by the machine that Carl ‘Foggy’ Fogarty rode to victory in the 1999 World Superbike Championship. On top of the Foggy-inspired paint scheme, the new bike wears several nods to the 916 in its design, like the black portions of the upper fairing, aping the cool-air ducts found on the original 916 machines. There is also a gold laurel logo on and fuel tank cover, as found on the Ducati 916, and even the logo on the fairing is finished in silver with a gold outline, which is completed in a 3D effect.

Technically the bike differs from the standard Panigale V4 S on several fronts, although the engine seems to be the only area that Ducati’s engineers have left alone. The chassis, for example, is only available in a single-seat configuration, and the cockpit is crowned by a billet aluminium triple clamp complete with laser engraved model name and serial number.

Further jewellery arrives in the form of a billet fuel cap, wing mirror removal cover caps, adjustable footpegs, and a tail tidy kit.

The bike is also rolling on carbon fibre five-spoke wheels, dropping the overall weight by 1.4kg when compared to the Panigale V4 S and reducing the inertia by 26% at the front and 46% at the rear.

The braking system of the bike gains Brembo Stylema R callipers at the front that are joined by racy carbon fibre cooling ducts. Mated to the updated braking system is a Brembo MCS master cylinder complete with a remote adjuster for on-the-fly changes to the front brake lever position.

The new bike also features an STM EVO dry clutch which allows the rider to adjust the mechanical engine braking by changing the secondary spring. It does, of course, also allow the rider to enjoy the clatter and bang of a traditional dry-clutch Ducati sports bike.

As you’d expect from such a high-spec bike, the new Panigale V4 SP2 30° Anniversario 916 will also come with a dedicated track kit, which includes some of the parts mentioned above as well as the Ducati Data Analyser+ and the open clutch cover.

All 500 sold examples of the bikes will come with a dedicated bike cover and certificate of authenticity.
