Harley-Davidson Low Rider El Diablo limited edition bows
The Harley-Davidson Low Rider El Diablo limited edition arrives with upgraded specification and a devilishly stylish new paint job
Harley-Davidson has widened its Icons Collection portfolio with the launch of the new Harley-Davidson Low Rider El Diablo limited edition featuring a bold new paint job and dialled up specification.
As with other models in the Icons range, the Harley-Davidson Low Rider El Diablo is inspired by some of the company’s ‘most recognisable and sought after models’, in this case the 1983 Harley-Davidson FXRT.
The Low Rider El Diablo - based on the sportier ST trim - is distinguished by its signature colour scheme, which Harley-Davidson says evokes the American West Coast custom styling trend with its special El Diablo Bright Red scheme and a second pass of Bright Red Sunglo.
When the masking is removed El Diablo Bright Red pinstripes are revealed on the saddlebags, tank sides, fenders and fairing. Pale Gold pinstriping is then hand-applied within the El Diablo Bright Red panels. The El Diablo Bright Red Sunglo is formulated with a tinted clear element to create a “candy” effect.
The look is then completed by black finishes on the powertrain, front-end and exhaust, with radiate cast-aluminium wheels that are finished in contrasting Matte Dark Bronze.
In addition to the frame-mounted fairing shape inspired by the classic FXRT Sport Glide and a single centre Softail triple slipstream vents that reduce rider head buffeting at highway speeds, the Low Rider El Diablo also features factory-installed audio developed by Harley-Davidson and Rockford Fosgate, complete with 250-watt amplifier, 133mm woofers, two remote tweeters and bluetooth connectivity.
“The Low Rider El Diablo is a modern expression of the iconic 1983 Harley-Davidson FXRT and a representation of the creative times it was born in,” said Brad Richards, Vice President of Design and Creative Director – Motorcycles Harley-Davidson.
“It embodies the spirit of counterculture in Southern California in the ’80s in a contemporary package that features meticulously crafted custom paint, including pinstripe trajectories that nod directly to those of the original FXRT.”
