KTM HAS just unveiled its updated range of small capacity single-cylinder Dukes by showing a technically and visually updated 125 Duke and 390 Duke at Eicma.

There are changes that are common across both models, so for 2017 the 125 and 390 Dukes been given a new rear subframe to create a more aggressive rear end with a sharper-angled rise. The rear of both bikes is complimented by a new LED front light assembly.

The restyled front end that brings them bang in to line with the 1290 Super Duke R; they might be smaller capacity but they really look the part in terms of style and stance – something that’s sure to get the yoof excited, innit.

Both model also get a larger steel fuel tank – up from 11 litres to 13.4.

The Asian-market 250 Duke also receives the same changes as the 125.

Here’s some more detail on each:

125 Duke

For 2017 the 125 Duke has a new larger capacity fuel tank – up to 13.4 litres from 11. KTM says that because of its size and shape, it acts as a better point of contact for the rider.

The exhaust silencer has been relocated from under the engine to the right side of the bike.

At the front, there’s a new 43mm diameter upside down WP fork.

At the top of the new fork sits a new LED headlight with LED daytime running lights and behind that sits a new instrument panel – the 125 Duke has gained a full colour TFT display.

Rider and passenger seats have also been revised.

390 Duke

The bigger 390 Duke also receives many of the same changes as the 125 – so it’s also gained a full colour TFT screen, LED front light, larger 13.4 litre fuel tank and new WP upside down fork.

However, changes to the 290 go a bit further and its new subframe is matched with a new frame too.

The 390 Duke has also got a new ride-by-wire throttle and a larger from brake disc – up to 320mm from 300mm, plus adjustable brake and clutch levers.
