Magni unveils stunning homage to founder Arturo Magni
The Magni Italia 01 / 01 is a tribute to the founder of the Magni brand who died five years ago
SMALL volume Italian motorcycle maker Magni might just have released the most beautiful motorcycle of the decade after announcing the Magni Italia 01 / 01.
The bike is a tribute to the founder of the brand, Arturo Magni, who sadly passed away five years ago. It’ll probably come as no surprise to hear that Mr. Magni played an important role in the golden age of Grand Prix racing for MV Agusta.
Prior to founding his own company, Magni began working at Gilera, before moving to MV Agusta in 1950. Here he held the position of director of the Racing Department until 1976, a role that allowed him to contribute to 37 manufacturers and 38 riders’ world titles. The experience gained in this time allowed him to break away from MV and create his own company, although as you can see, some important design elements remained.
The Magni brand is famous for creating modern interpretations of bikes from the heyday of Grand Prix motorcycle racing, specialising in retro-modern MV Agusta models. It’s bikes feature classical looking frames that use modern manufacturing techniques and materials, with MV Agusta’s inline three-cylinder engines providing the power.
This bike is an unashamedly authentic take on the MV race bikes ridden by heroes such as Giacomo Agostini and Phil Read. You only have to look at the line that runs from the tank to the seat to see the resemblance.
