Moto Guzzi reveal production V85 TT

MOTO GUZZI has revealed further details on the V85 adventure motorcycle that was revealed in concept form at EICMA 2017.

The V85 Tutto Terreno will be the first to utilise a new 850cc 80hp V-twin powertrain, upon which the Mandello manufacturer plans to launch a number of models to celebrate its upcoming centenary.

It features a new tubular steel frame, using the engine as a stressed member, long travel suspension and an asymmetrical aluminium swingarm, which is connected to the chassis via the monoshock. With 19 inch and 17 inch spoked and tubed wheels, there’s certainly some off-roading capability to be had.

Described by Moto Guzzi as a ‘Classic Enduro’, the new motorcycle draws inspirations from the ‘epic rally raids of the 1980s’, and Guzzi’s own off-road heritage – first with the GT 20 at the at the Six Day Reliability Trial in 1939 and continuing through to the brand’s entries into the Paris-Dakar in 1985 with the V65 Baja and the following year with the V75 Baja.

The new bike wears styling cues reminiscent of the ‘golden age of motorbike adventure’, such as the bright tricolour design (it's also available in black) and twin headlights. However, with a 21-litre tank, adjustable screen, TFT dash, traction control and ABS (which are automatically adjusted for the three riding modes of road, rain and off-road), it promises to be a comfortable and capable adventure machine.

It’s set to be in dealerships early next year, with an RRP just north of 10 grand.
