MV Agusta Brutale 1000 RR tweaked, new F3 RR flagship poised for launch

The MV Agusta Brutale 1000 RR gets a nip, tuck and Euro5 compliance for 2021, as documents appear to confirm a RR-version of the F3 is coming too

An updated version of the MV Agusta Brutale 1000 RR ‘hyper naked’ has been unveiled although you will need to be hard pressed to spot too many changes on what remains one of the most striking sporting motorcycles on the market.

All slashes, carves and angles framing some beautiful touches, the 1000 RR - the flagship of the Brutale range - looks virtually identical to the model is replaces, which will come as a relief to those fearing anything to ruin its iconic lines lines.

A glance at the spec sheet reveals no obvious changes there either with power and torque still pinned at a beefy 208hp and 116.5Nm.

However, the meaty 1000cc engine is now Euro5 compliant and though this isn’t exactly ‘sexy’, the fact MV has managed to keep things just as powerful while making it cleaner - via tweaked valve guides and a revision to the visually glorious exhaust -  is an achievement in itself.

Elsewhere under the skin, Continental supplies a new cornering ABS which is incorporated into the Continental IMU - the brain behind the traction and wheelie control - which should give the Brutale 1000 RR a more intuitive riding experience.

The Brutale 1000 RR also makes use of MV Agusta’s snazzy new 5.5-inch TFT display dashboard, complete with Bluetooth, navigation and a Mobistat tracker to ward off any grubby mits from your pride and joy.

MV Agusta F3 RR set to top revised sportsbike range

Having announced the launch of a new entry-level ‘Rosso’ variant last month, MV Agusta is seemingly also poised to reveal a new flagship version of the F3 sportsbike wearing the RR badge.

Bringing it into line with the Brutale, Turismo Veloce and Dragster, a new RR - the identity of which was leaked via Australian registration documents - will join the just launched Rosso and the existing RC trim [pictured below], which is based on the model MV Agusta is hoping to homologate in 800cc trim for the overhauled WorldSSP Championship in 2022.

However, unlike its MV siblings, the documents show the RR will represent a cosmetic overhaul only - not necessarily a bad thing - since power output is listed as identical to that of other F3s.
