MV Agusta Brutale 1000RC and 1000RR details leaked
Italian superbike maker MV Agusta has released details about the Brutale 1000RR & Brutale 1000RC supernaked motorcycles.
According to a recent press release, MV Agusta is to launch a couple of mass-produced versions of its stunning new Brutale 1000, adding to the 2020 model range in the wake of the exotic 2019 limited-edition Brutale 1000 Serie Oro model.
The 1000RR and RC models will share the exact same 153kW (208PS or 205bhp) motor as the £38,000+ limited run (300 models) Serie Oro (Gold Series) Brutale 1000s. And both will have the same high-performance tune as the limited-edition Serie Oro. That means they'll be just as el rapido.
The weight of the mass-produced versions will also be the same as the Serie Oro, even though far less exotic and expensive materials will be used in their production. Official information relating to the bikes states that all three versions have the same curb mass of 208kg. Which with oil and fuel weight added to the 185kg dry weight of the Serie Oro version seems roughly accurate.
As is the norm in the MV Agusta range, the new Brutale 1000 ‘RC’ version will be the high-spec version (besides the limited-edition Serie Oro), while the ‘RR’ model will be cheaper and lack some of the more exotic components. Chances are the lower-priced RR model will swap out the electronic Ohlins forks for some conventional Marzocchi’s, plus a Sachs shock and a few less flashy carbon panels.
We’ll be sure to keep our eyes peeled at the EICMA show in Milan later this year when MV officially unveils its 2020 model selection.
