MOTORCYCLE art is getting ramped up to eleven this morning, as the MV Agusta F3 RR is revealed to the world!

MV is billing the new F3 RR as the ‘icing on the cake of the F3 range’, featuring technology and performance never before seen in the inline three-cylinder F3 family. The bike can either be bought in standard trim or with the inclusion of a race kit conversion that adds extra spice thanks to bolt-on go-faster goodies!

MV Agusta F3 RR aerodynamics

Starting with the most obvious change for the new model is the fairing, with its distinctive yet eerily familiar in-board wings. Looking very similar to those found on the latest generation Honda Fireblade, the winglet design is a typically elegant solution from the Varese factory.

The ducted aero system is claimed to provide the diminutive F3 RR with an extra 8kg of downforce at 150mph although it is not just the fairing at work here. MV Agusta has tweaked the screen (now higher) and given the bike a MotoGP-style shrouded front mudguard. All of this was done to try and smooth out the airflow over and around the rider. MV is quick to claim though that the quest for front end feel has not been at the expense of top speed, something the factory puts down to extensive wind tunnel testing.

MV Agusta F3 RR engine

Having been extensively updated for 2021, the engine for the new MV Agusta F3 RR was already on a pretty strong footing to begin with. To push the new track-focused RR along just a little further, MV’s engineers called upon the experience gained in the Moto2 World Championship (a series that uses the inline three-cylinder Triumph unit) to broaden power and torque across the range.

To do this high-pressure injectors have been adopted, along with a newly designed and better-performing exhaust specifically for this model. To quell the heat generated by the additional performance, MV has utilised a new bi-directional radiator that is nestled behind the new aero fairing.

MV Agusta F3 RR power output

In stock form, power remains at 147hp and torque at 64lb-ft. For those wanting a little more from the lightweight sports bike, there is the option of adding the now-commonplace race kit package to the bike. The sum for this is as yet unknown although we can tell you what it includes – and more importantly what is does!

Inside the box you’ll have a bespoke Akrapovič exhaust complete with carbon shrouds, CNC machined components (such as fuel cap, brake and clutch levers) single seat cover. Alongside the exhaust, you’ll also get a revised ECU for the bike which is where the real fun starts. The exhaust and ECU combo will up the redline up by 250rpm (from 13,000 to 13,250rpm) in turn boosting the power to 155bhp. Add all the race kit parts to your F3 RR and you’ll also shave a claimed 8kg off the bike’s weight, dropping it to 165kg dry.
