New Indian Pursuit Elite announced alongside returning Chieftain Elite
Two new models have been added to Indian's Elite range, with the returning Chieftain Elite, and the new Indian Pursuit Elite.
Indian has announced two new ‘Elite’ models, with the return of the Chieftain Elite alongside a new model, the Indian Pursuit Elite.
The Indian Chieftain Elite debuted in 2018, and returns in 2023 in 175 units. Offering custom-inspired details from the factory and more aggressive styling compared to the standard Chieftain, the Elite variant is undoubtedly exclusive.
As for the Pursuit Elite, this is a brand new entry to Indian’s Elite line-up, and is of course based on the Indian Pursuit.
Only 150 units of the Indian Pursuit Elite will be built, making it even more exclusive than the returning Chieftain Elite, and the Pursuit is “is packed with premium amenities and advanced ride-enhancing technology to achieve a more comfortable ride,” Indian says.
Finished in “Super Graphite Metallic” and “Black Metallic” paint, with “Shadow Bronze Chrome” accents, the Pursuit Elite ups the exclusivity further with Elite badging and “premium,” in Indian’s words, components.
All of the exclusive bodywork of course wraps the 1,768cc PowerPlus engine, which delivers 120 horsepower and 178Nm.
Chassis-wise, Fox supplies (electronic) preload-adjustable rear shocks, while handling is assisted via Smart Lean Technology which uses a Bosch IMU to modify the ABS and traction control.
LEDs light the whole bike, from headlights to the saddle bag, and the Pursuit Elite also uses a seven-inch touchscreen with integrated Apple CarPlay and Bluetooth connectivity.
Aaron Jax, Vice President of Indian Motorcycle, said: “When we first introduced the 2018 Chieftain Elite, we wanted to create an offering that was not just limited in quantity, but exclusive in nature with custom details straight from the factory.
“Today, with jewel-like finishes, our Elite line of baggers and touring models truly represent the best-of-the-best and deliver a statement like nothing else on the road.”
