New Triumph Tiger 1200s and 800s revealed Milan
TRIUMPH has just revealed its new 2018 Tiger 1200 and 800 range at Eicma in Milan.
The new Tiger 1200 (pictured above) is up to 10kg lighter than its predecessor according to Triumph, thanks to weight savings in both the engine and chassis.
It’s got the ‘highest level of state-of-the-art technology ever on a Tiger’, with six riding modes including ‘Off Road Pro’, an up/down quick-shifter, updated cruise control, a full-colour TFT dash, backlit switchgear and keyless ignition.
It’s got new wheels, bodywork and graphics.
The Tiger 800 has had over 200 upgrades to the chassis and engine, making it more capable off-road and more comfortable, Triumph says.
The first-gear ratio has been shortened for enhanced off-road traction, low-speed manoeuvrability and acceleration’, and ‘Off Road Pro’ has been added to a choice of up to six riding modes.
It’s got a new full-colour TFT dash, updated cruise control and backlit switchgear with a five-way joystick.
Triumph says the engine also has a more responsive feel while the sound has been improved with exhaust revisions.
Both the Tiger 1200 and 800 are available in a range of varying-spec ‘XR’ or ‘XC’ editions, the latter more off-road focused.
Also on display on Triumph's stand at Eicma was the firm's Street Triple-powered Moto2 race bike prototype.
