Rush Power | MV Agusta Rush 1000 back for another limited edition run for 2021
The striking MV Agusta Rush 1000 is back for 2021 with tech tweaks and a new livery fresh run of 300 units of the 208bhp hypernaked
The limited edition run of the exclusive MV Agusta Rush 1000 has been extended into 2021 with a fresh run of 300 units for those in the market for something a little edgier from the Italian firm.
Using the Brutale 1000RR as its base, the ‘first edition’ of the Rush was unveiled during the 2019 EICMA show in Milan having transformed the premium naked into an unmistakably hyper performance-minded model.
Lavished in visual trinkets to emphasise its wilder nature compared with the Brutale, the MV Agusta Rush 1000 has changed little from the original model, with alterations limited to a new colours scheme that is elevated by the (opinion dividing) rear wheel disc, tapered tail and a revised front headlight arrangement.
At its heart remains the meaty 998cc inline-four, which kicks out 208bhp at 13,000rpm, though this time it comes with the addition of DLC-coated valve guides, which are designed to reduce friction and improve reliability, while a quickshifter should also make the Rush more urgent.
Designed to represent the pinnacle of MV Agusta’s sporting heritage and desire to offer more than just its image to justify its premium pricing, the MV Agusta Rush 1000 can be elevated further with the SC-Project add on, which fettles the software around the ECU to up power to 212bhp and should ensure you’re keeping up with everyone on your next track day.
Despite its obvious leanings to being the motorcycle you buy to break lap records, MV Agusta insists it is still a ride for the road, though at just under £30,000, you’ll certainly pay the privilege for it being one of only 300 in the world in this guise.
