Triumph TE-1 set for full reveal in July after completing final testing phase
Triumph will reveal the final prototype, including photographs, video and technical details including range and charge time on 12 July 2022.
TRIUMPH has announced that their TE-1 electric prototype has completed its final stage of testing.
Triumph’s Project Triumph TE-1 electric prototype has completed the live testing phase of its development, the fourth and final stage of its testing process.
The TE-1 has been developed by Triumph in collaboration with Williams Advanced Engineering and the Warwick Manufacturing Group at the University of Warwick.
Williams Advanced Engineering (WAE) is the non-racing engineering side of the Williams group that includes the Williams Formula One team. WAE conducts projects in areas such as aerodynamics, thermodynamics, manufacturing, product delivery, and electrification programmes.
The Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG) is a part of the University of Warwick, and conducts research into intelligent vehicles, organisational and societal transformation, and digital technologies, among other things.
The announcement of the TE-1’s completion of its fourth and final testing phase - live testing - comes with the news that the final prototype will be fully revealed by Triumph on 12 July 2022. On that date, Triumph will show the bike, and publicise the technical details of the machine, including its range and charging time.
The important thing after 12 July will be to understand the intentions and direction of Triumph in the electric sector having completed their first electric prototype. Electrification is clearly - if not the whole future - a major part of the future of motorcycling, and hitting the ground running with successful models and prototypes early on can be key to being a successful manufacturer in the future. The details revealed by Triumph on 12 July could be a strong indicator of what the brand’s future might look like.
