Updates for Honda’s NC750 range
Traction control and new A2 versions for NC750X, Integra and X-ADV
HONDA has treated its NC750 range to a round of updates for 2018.
All four models - the NC750X, NC750S, Integra and X-ADV - will be offered in new versions making 47hp for A2 licence holders.
Honda says official dealers will be able to easily convert the new 47hp versions to make the full 54hp of the standard models once riders have acquired an unrestricted licence.
The NC750X (pictured above), Integra and X-ADV also get ‘Honda Selectable Torque Control’, or traction control, which can be switched off.
The adventure-style NC750X and X-ADV, the latter Honda’s adventure scooter, get a two-level traction control system.
The models all share a 745cc parallel-twin engine and Honda’s automatic Dual Clutch Transmission system, standard on the Integra and X-ADV and optional on the NC750X and NC750S.
The Integra is available in a new special-edition matte-metallic silver colour scheme, with wheel rim stripes and a different engine cover finish.
The X-ADV gets a new DCT mode for ‘more direct gear change for improved rear wheel traction when off-road’. It means the model now has three DCT modes: ‘D’, ‘S’ and ‘G’, the latter the new one, as well as Neutral.
Honda says the X-ADV's ratios are also now lower, ‘for quick acceleration and response’.
The updates were revealed this evening in Milan, ahead of this week’s Eicma motorcycle show.
Mr Kenichi Misaki, Honda’s Large Project Leader for the X-ADV, said: “Our development concept for the X-ADV was simple: ‘Go Have Fun!’ and we wanted to create a motorcycle that comes with an adventurous spirit as standard fitment.
“We also knew we needed the X-ADV to be truly usable as a tool to move around the city, and be full of utility and user-friendly features. And come the weekend it can be used to escape all of the daily routine, in a unique and uplifting new style.”
