YAMAHA has just revealed this special ‘Racer’ edition of its XV950 bobber.

Powered by the same engine as the standard XV950, a 942cc air-cooled V-twin making 52hp and 58.5ft.lb torque, the Racer gets clip-on handlebars, rear sets and some café racer styling tweaks.

Seat height is now 765mm, 75mm higher than the standard XV950 and XV950R models, and according to Yamaha, the new ergonomics have helped to centralise mass for improved handling.

As well as a new cover fitted to the steel rear fender and a headlight surround, the Racer has new switchgear, different levers, and newly positioned indicators mounted on the lower triple clamp.

The front and rear suspension has also been developed specifically for the bike, offering more travel than the standard models.

Yamaha has released a list of accessories for the Racer, including an Akraprovic exhaust, a sports air filter, billet levers, and Rizoma styling parts.

And unlike the new XJR1300 Racer, the XV950 Racer will come fitted with ABS brakes too.

Offered in blue or grey, the new model will be available from May.

Price TBC.
