Brembo launches new 19RCS Corsa Corta RR radial master cylinder for 2023
Brembo has launched a new radial master cylinder, the 19RCS Corsa Corta RR derived from the Italian brand's racing experience.
Brembo has announced a new race-derived brake master cylinder will arrive for 2023.
Racing motorcycles makes almost certain many things, including the use of brakes from Brembo. They are not without competition, of course, but the Italian company has a monopoly on MotoGP, and a strong presence in almost every other championship.
Its racing presence presents a path for production items derived from that competition experience. For 2023, Brembo brings a new 19RCS Corsa Corta RR Race Replica radial master cylinder to its production roster, directly derived from racing.
The 19RCS features a hard-oxidised finish to enhance wear resistance and reduce friction, while the floating piston and gaskets are the same as those used in MotoGP.
The lever itself features a modified shape for 2023, while maintaining the ability to allow users to tune the brake’s ‘bite point’ via a selector at the top of the master cylinder. There, the user can choose between three responsiveness settings: Normal, for urban riding and low-grip conditions; Sport, a shorter bite point with a more “dynamic” response according to Brembo; and Race, which brings the bite point to an immediate response.
The 2023 19RCS also makes use of Brembo’s Ratio Click System (RCS) allowing for adjustment of the brake pressure via an adjuster screw which changes the fulcrum-to-piston distance between 18mm and 20mm.
Brembo intends the adjustability of the system to allow for fine tuning of the feeling of the brakes, and the motorcycle as a whole, in changing conditions.
The new Brembo 19RCS Corsa Corta RR Race Replica radial master cylinder will be available from 2023.
