We’re now well into touring season, and if you like your big bike trips with a good view of the scenery, there’s a new lid that might be of interest - the Caberg Flyon II Carbon.

Like the standard Flyon II it uses the Jett-style design, with a large visor coated in anti-scratch and anti-fog treatments, covering an open-face helmet. There’s also an integrated sun visor, deployed or retracted via a “cursor” to the left of the lid that’s said to be easy to use with a gloved hand.

The shape of the helmet is intended to reduce wind noise and vibrations, and there’s an internal ventilation system. The interior fabrics are breathable and hypoallergenic, and can be removed and washed should you have had a particularly sweaty ride. The strap uses a ‘micrometric buckle’ for easy adjustment, and there’s a steel ring for securing the lid when you’re not using it.

The internal padding has spaces that can be used for the speakers and microphones of communication devices like the Cardo Packtalk series and the Sena. Caberg also offers its own - the Pro Speak Evo.

There are two shell sizes, with the size small covering XS, S and M through differing levels of padding, and the large incorporating L and XL. The Caberg Flyon II Carbon weighs 1350kg in the large shell design and conforms with the new ECE 22.06 helmet regulations, as is now mandatory.

It’s priced at €369.99 in continental Europe, while in the UK it’ll set you back £312.89.
