Ducati Panigale V2 gets full Zard racing treatment for 2023
Zard, the Italian exhaust and accessories manufacturer, has revealed a number of new products aimed at a range of bikes including the Ducati Panigale V2.
Zard has announced a number of new products at the EICMA show in Milan, from exhausts to aesthetic add-ons, for bikes from Harley-Davidson power cruisers to Ducati sports bikes.
Zard is well-known for its exhausts, adding performance and removing weight from production motorcycles via the tailpipe has become something of a specialty for the Italian brand.
Zard Sabbia line
For 2023, a new slip-on exhaust has been launched by Zard aimed at adventure touring bikes called the Sabbia.
Specifically, the Sabbia is aimed at the Aprilia Tuareg 660, Ducati Desert X, and Yamaha Tenere 700.
Its design inspiration comes from “the bikes from African rally raids,” according to Zard, but it is “packed with modern design elements,” and that “Sabbia combines innovative production techniques with unique and sophisticated styling.”
It features a heat-resistant screen-printed graphic element, as well as aerodynamically-shaped carbon fibre heat shield which is of a different design depending on the motorcycle model it is built for.
The main material is stainless steel for the Sabbia, which also maintains Euro5 homologation.
Sabbia exhausts can also be paired with engine guards from the same line, which are also made of stainless steel.
The Sabbia line is available already from the Zard website.
Zard racing kit for Ducati Panigale V2
The second product revealed by Zard at EICMA is its first racing kit for the Ducati Panigale V2. This is the machine raced by the likes of Nicolo Bulega, Federico Caricasulo and Raffaele De Rosa in the World Supersport Championship.
For the Panigale V2, Zard has produced not only a racing exhaust kit, but also a new fairing, as well as an ECU.
The exhaust kit features stainless-steel headers, and silencers with a titanium body and carbon fibre end caps. The headers themselves now run underneath the engine, while the silencers are triangular and connect to the tail section of the bike.
The new ECU from Zard, called Impulso, is specifically designed to work with the new Panigale V2 racing exhaust kit. When paired together, the Impulso ECU and Zard racing exhaust kit will, according to Zard, grant a power increase of six per cent, while the exhaust alone will save 5.1kg over the standard system.
As for the fairing, it is made of a kevlar-carbon fibre composite, and can be finished in either satin or gloss paint.
Zard says: “Prices and lead times for the new Zard exhaust system for Ducati Panigale V2 and the composite racing fairing kit are are available on request.”
Zard has also made the Impulso ECU available for the Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RR and RS models, for which it had previously made two exhaust kits.
Zard add-on kit for Harley Davidson Sportster S 1250
Zard had already released two exhaust systems for the Harley-Davidson Sportster S 1250, the GT and Top Gun systems, but it has now added a range of carbon fibre accessories to its kit for the American bike.
The accessory range adds a headlight fairing, radiator cover and left side panel to the cruiser which adds “a typically Italian flair,” Zard says, to what is undoubtedly an all-American power cruiser.
