Aprilia has announced the signing of Marco Bezzecchi for the 2025 MotoGP season on a “multi-year” contract.

Bezzecchi will join the Aprilia team for his fourth season in MotoGP, the Noale brand counting on the performance and promise shown by the #72 in 2023, when he scored three Grand Prix wins.

2024 has not been as straightforward for Bezzecchi, having not won a race yet and scored a best result of third at the Spanish Grand Prix. Turning issues on the Ducati GP23 have been his downfall, but Aprilia Racing CEO Massimo Rivola is convinced in his team’s acquisition.

“We welcome one of the best Italian talents,” Rivola said, “who has proven his worth since his debut in the minor categories and, especially last year in MotoGP, with excellent performances and victories.

“We can't wait to embrace Bez in Noale as well; the combination of the Italian bike and the Italian rider is very fascinating, but even more so the pair of riders that will be formed with Jorge.

“We are really satisfied with our line-up for 2025, Martín and Bezzecchi were our first choice in terms of age, talent, grit and determination and with them we can write a new and important page for Aprilia Racing."

Martin and Bezzecchi were previously title rivals in the 2018 Moto3 World Championship, and have each spent their entire respective MotoGP careers as satellite Ducati riders.

Each is, theoretically (on the basis that Pramac Racing hasn’t yet made official a switch from Ducati to Yamaha), leaving open a satellite Ducati seat for next season, and they are three of four Ducati race winners from 2023 to leave the Bologna brand for 2025 along with Enea Bastianini.
