'Small dislocation' for Quartararo
Petronas Yamaha rookie suffers shoulder injury, will 'assess his condition' during FP4 at the German MotoGP.
MotoGP rookie star Fabio Quartararo will return to action in final MotoGP practice at the Sachsenring, despite suffering a 'very small partial dislocation of his left shoulder' on Saturday morning.
After again leading for large parts of the FP3 session, and ultimately being outpaced only by reigning world champion Marc Marquez, the Petronas Yamaha rider hurt his shoulder while saving a big tank-slapper on the 260km/h downhill plunge from the Waterfall corner in the final minute.
Holding his left arm as he returned to the garage, a subsequent X-ray showed the dislocation. The Sepang team state that Quartararo will now 'ride in FP4 to assess his condition'.
Quartararo, on a roll of back-to-back MotoGP poles and podiums, is still recovering from surgery on his right forearm to cure arm pump problems.
Despite the injury, Quartararo's only fall as a premier-class rider remains a small tip-off in Barcelona, although he did run into the gravel earlier in FP3 at Sachsenring.
