WSB 2014: Imola race 2 results
Pata Honda's Jonathan Rea does the double at Imola
27-YEAR-OLD Jonathan Rea has done the double at Imola on-board the PATA Honda superbike with Ducati's Chaz Davies claiming yet another second place at the Italian track and Sylvain Guintoli taking the lost podium position.
Rea once again dominated almost replicating race one with a great start and finishing with over a four second lead from second place Davies. It appeared no-one had the pace to catch the leading man.
Kawasaki Racing Team's Tom Sykes crept up to fourth ahead of Marco Melandri, but Rea's lead had grown to over five seconds whilst Sykes fought with team-mate Loris Baz, Ducati's Davies and Aprilia's Guintoli until the last lap.
Due to Niccolo Canepa developing a technical fault in the latter half of the race, Leon Camier once again finished top EVO class rider for BMW Motorrad Italia.
