Valentino Rossi dominated MotoGP for many years and in doing so became arguably the most popular motorcycle rider in the world. The nine-time world champion (seven times in MotoGP) is considered one of the best ever, and for many, he is the out-right best Grand Prix rider of the 21st century. Don’t say it too loudly though, you’ll wake up the Marc Marquez fans.

Rossi and Marquez had many, many duels, but looking at Rossi’s latest social media post, he hasn’t lost any of his competitive edge as he races around his VR46 Ranch in Tavullia against members of the VR46 Academy.

In this wild onboard footage which is recorded using a new GoPro 13, Rossi goes head-to-head with two-time MotoGP champion Francesco Bagnaia and another Ducati rider - Marco Bezzecchi. Rossi is riding a Yamaha YZ450F.

Using his precision to perfection, Rossi is able to ride at the limit without coming close to touching one of his young prodigies. A lot of the riders that have come through Rossi’s VR46 system have accredited much of their success to Rossi, and you can see why they respect him so much in this video because the now 45-year-old has not lost his touch.

You might wonder why MotoGP riders are racing so hard between races in the case of Bagnaia and Bezzecchi, but the two Italians regularly compete against Rossi at the Ranch, as does Franco Morbidelli and Ducati appears to be unconcerned by them doing so.

Since hanging up his extremely successful racing boots in 2021, ‘The Doctor’ has become a very good four-wheel driver with BMW. Rossi made his debut at the 24 hours of Le Mans earlier this year and led a portion of the race before his WRT GT car was retired following an accident involving one of his teammates.
