Yamaha Tracer 700 [2020] | First Ride Impressions
The Yamaha Tracer 700 gets an overhaul for 2020 with a fresh face, a revised Euro5 compliant engine and an overhauled suspension system
Yamaha may have swerved the temptation to use the 2019 EICMA show in Milan to showcase a new flagship sportsbike or super naked for the first time, but in the grander scheme of things its big reveal – the 2020 Yamaha Tracer 700 – is more important.
Indeed, while Honda had its CBR1000RR-R, Kawasaki the Z H2 and KTM the 1290 Super Duke R to snatch the headlines in Milan, none of them will ultimately come close to matching the Tracer 700 in terms of sales… and profits.
A few months on and the 2020 Yamaha Tracer 700 is duly getting its centre stage moment, so Visordown have travelled to Tenerife to put the versatile sports tourer naked through its paces.
Yamaha Tracer 700 – First Ride Review
One of Yamaha’s best-selling models in Europe, the Tracer 700 has been given a thorough overhaul to coincide with the requirement to bring the engine up to Euro5 emissions compatibility.
That means it has been given an all-new, contemporary face looking like a more angular rendition of the R1 Superbike front-end, plus a few ergonomic updates such as a new dashboard, revised seating and an easily adjustable front-screen.
Under the skin, the revised engine is complemented by a much improved new suspension configuration, which is now adjustable and more compliant.
Stay tuned to Visordown for the FULL VERDICT and in-depth review of the 2020 Yamaha Tracer 700 this week
