A LEADING UK motorcycle leather manufacturer is to close its doors after 25 years in business, says an article in today's Daily Telegraph.
Scott Leathers, which was started by ex-motorcross ace Jimmy Aird, was put into administration in the wake of the credit crisis, with fuel and energy costs rising and sales falling off as consumers cut back on their spending.
Sources say Aird, who set up the company 25 years ago, declined to comment on the challenges facing the company or the administrators.
Scott leathers are worn by many top international road racers, including 14-time TT winner, John McGuinness.
