2021 Indian FTR Model Range Specs - All the info on the latest FTR range
We have all the spec here for the 2021 Indian FTR range - plus the video to cover it all.
INDIAN has refined the FTR 1200 range in 2021, with an improved spec for the base model and up - this American flat tracker really isn’t hanging around.
The low slung street tracker is becoming an iconic motorcycle on the streets around the world, for both its inherent style and its performance. With a rich heritage in American flat track racing (as we found out when reviewing the 2019 model - we were even able to step the back out in true flat track fashion) the Indian FTR model range for 2021 keeps the grin-inducing performance from the American V-twin and builds on it.

First up, and most importantly for some, is the power. The FTR range shares a 1203cc liquid-cooled V-twin, which produces 120hp and 120Nm of torque at 6000 rpm. This motor is shared across the range of FTR models for 2021, and produces plenty of power for the road - and it’s how you use it that counts! This V-twin will be the fastest accelerating motor yet, so whether for weekend jaunts to the twisties or daily commutes (you’re my hero if you’re looking at regular commuter motorcycles and decide to go for this) this is a proper option.
Otherwise, the FTR models share revised geometry, with the new bikes running a steeper rake angle of 25 degrees, a shorter trail of 99.9m, and smaller 17” Metzeler Sportec tyres, which when combined with the new front and rear suspension lower the overall height by 36mm - and therefore along with it, the centre of gravity.
The seat height is 780mm, and that opens the doors for shorter riders to comfortably get on this street tracker. Considering the low-slung motor unit, under-seat fuel tank, and strategic adjustments to the riding mass, the only real mass up top would be you! Chucking this around corners and powering out, on paper (and no doubt in reality) is going to be a real treat.
Stopping power is provided by radially mounted 320mm Brembo dual disc brakes up front, 260mm rear with ABS. Aside from the chassis updates the entire FTR range now also features rear cylinder deactivation, something that is extremely handy if you’re caught sitting in traffic for long periods of time.
There are 4 updated Indian FTR models in 2021: the base model FTR, FTR Rally, FTR S, & FTR R Carbon. So let's have a bit of a closer look at the model options.
2021 Indian FTR
Often, base models don’t always provide the true taste of the model range - but the base model of the FTR lineup still offers a fantastic option to get on the road, especially if you’re after an A2 compliant version. This model will feature a 4” analogue gauge, and is available in a Black Smoke colourway with red accents throughout - including red pinstripes on the wheels, red Indian motorcycle script branding across the tank, and a striking red rear shock spring. Weighing in at 233kg wet, this one will be on the road for around £12,299.
2021 Indian FTR S
A step up from the base model, the FTR S gives you fully adjustable suspension, an upgraded Akrapovič exhaust, three ride modes, wheelie control with rear lift mitigation, stability control, traction control and cornering ABS. With two paint options, Maroon Metallic and White Smoke, the premium offering includes Indian Motorcycle’s 110 mm (4.3-inch) Ride Command touchscreen display, which offers phone integration via Bluetooth or USB and configurable gauges. Plus you can use it with gloves on! The wet weight is 233kg. Additionally, a fast-charging USB port provides a convenient means to charge personal devices. The FTR S is set at £13,699.
2021 Indian FTR Rally
Maintaining its scrambler aesthetic, the FTR Rally features Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tyres over wire-spoke wheels with an 18-inch in the rear and 19-inch in front. Like other FTR models, the FTR Rally receives the refined engine calibration and throttle response, along with rear cylinder deactivation. The FTR Rally’s ProTaper handlebars are 50mm (2 inches) higher than other FTR models for better comfort and handling with a more relaxed ergonomic position. The FTR Rally features an analogue gauge and is available in Titanium Smoke. Like the base FTR, the FTR Rally is also available in a reduced power version for A2 compliance - but the added scrambler aesthetic adds a bit to the final weight - wet 240kg. You can pick up an FTR Rally for £12,999.
2021 Indian FTR R Carbon
The FTR R Carbon sits at the top as the premier model in the FTR lineup. In addition to the aforementioned features listed with the FTR S, the FTR R Carbon sets itself apart with (deep breath): carbon fibre tank covers, front fender and headlight nacelle, fully adjustable Öhlins gold front forks and gold piggyback shock, a black Akrapovič exhaust, premium seat cover, and numbered badging on the console. Phew. So this FTR R Carbon has quite a lot going on, and looks pretty stunning to be fair. Wet weight is sitting at 232kg, so the carbon fibre worked! The price-tag for an FTR R Carbon is set at £15,599.
