Aprilia Tuono 660 UK price - here's how it does against its rivals
The much-awaited and highly talked about Aprilia Tuono 660 is here, and now we know the UK price
THE Aprilia Tuono 660 is one of the most talked-about middle-weight nakeds we’ve seen in recent times. The combination of top-spec electronics and that jewel-like 660 parallel has tongues waggling since EICMA 2019.
And the final piece of the puzzle has just been made public, with Aprilia’s UK PR team sharing the price of the new model with us a little earlier today.
The new super-middleweight from Noale is going to be stomping into dealerships with a £9,700 OTR price tag. So let's take a look at that versus the rivals…
Aprilia Tuono 660 price vs the rivals
Aprilia Tuono 660 | £9,700 |
Honda CB650R | £7,299 |
Triumph Trident | £7,195 |
Yamaha MT-07 | £6,899 |
Kawasaki Z650 | £6,649 |
Suzuki SV650 | £6,499 |
On paper at least, the Tuono looks like a significantly pricier option than any of the other middle-weight motorcycle that can be A2 compatible. In fact, it’s fair to say that even the lowest-spec entry point into Street Triple ownership, the Street Triple S, is less cash to hand over. But the price in the table only tells part of the story.
The Tuono really is pretty much peerless in this category, in terms of electronics, and also in the kit that Aprilia has used.
Many of the bikes on here have that ‘built to a budget’ thing going on. The parts used are good, but you can tell that the tap of an accountant’s calculator has had the final say. Sure, the kit fitted to the Tuono isn’t the top-spec stuff we see on the bigger sibling in the family, but it’s a fair sight better than the rest of this list – is it nearly £3,000 better than a Suzuki SV… I’ll leave that for you to decide.
There is also the small matter of electronics and assistance, something that the little Tuono has in abundance. It’s fair to say that this is the only bike in this category that gives the rider all of the toys that the top-flight sports bikes get. Wheelie control, engine braking control, cornering ABS, traction control, road riding modes, and a track dedicated riding mode… five years ago you’d have had to spend £20k to get these toys on two-wheels!
We’ll be following the Tuono closely, especially after riding the little fire-cracker that the RS660 turned out to be.
