Husqvarna Norden 901 Expedition leaked from dealer summit
A video seemingly captured at a dealer summit seems to show a new trick Husqvarna Norden 901 Expedition model primed for launch
SINCE its launch at the tail end of 2021, the Husqvarna Norden 901 made waves in the adventure motorcycle sector, mating Husqvarna’s Nordic style, with KTM’s imitable off-road ability.
And as is the way with the adventure touring sector, brands rarely like to limit themselves to simply one option for punters to choose from. KTM already has the 890 Adventure and higher spec Adventure R in its roster, with the R adding longer travel, and revised electronics to the class-leading ADV bike.
Husqvarna Norden 901 Expedition leaked
It seems as though that theme could be the blueprint that Husqvarna is now set to follow, after Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) information, and a video reported to be taken at a dealer summit has revealed an ‘Expedition’ model of the bike in filings posted in the USA.
It’s not a huge surprise to see the bike being officially/unofficially mentioned in the documents and the video, after all, the ADV sector has been nagging Husky about the possibility of a tricker version of the bike pretty much since its launch.
Husqvarna Norden 901 Expedition spec and features
We don’t have any official specs from its maker on the bike yet, although this well-shot video gives us a hefty amount of information on the new model. The easiest to notice is the much more substantial bash plate surrounding the engine, followed by soft luggage that some US sites are reporting is set to be a standard fitment on the model.
Other inclusions on the bike include a heated seat and grips, a larger, touring screen, a centre stand (although we can’t spot that on the video), a GPS mount, and updated graphics. The front forks are also upgraded, with 48mm XPLOR items replacing the 43mm APEX forks of the original 901. It’s also reported that the Expedition model will come pre-equipped with the customisable (and optional extra) Explorer riding mode, saving a couple of hundred quid in the process.
For further clarification on the model, we’ll have to wait and see, as the official launch of the bike hasn’t taken place yet. We are expecting to see that fairly soon though, possibly as early as February.
