New 700cc model from QJ Motor in touring and adventure specs
QJ Motor is set to launch two new trail models in 2023, with a 700cc touring bike and an equivalent adventure bike with a larger front wheel.
QJ Motor is scheduled to release two new trail bikes in 2023, with a shared engine and chassis platform across an adventure and a touring model.
Alongside CFMoto, QJ Motor is perhaps one of the most well-known Chinese brands in the European market. Part of this is thanks to its production of mid-capacity motorcycles, and its presence in the middleweight divisions is set to increase this year with two new trail models.
The QJ Motor SRT 700 and QJ Motor SRT 700 X are set for release in Europe this year, and feature a common engine-chassis platform.
That engine is, as suggested by the name, 698cc, with Euro5 homologation and a parallel-twin-cylinder layout producing a peak power output of 54kW (72 horsepower) and a maximum torque figure of 67Nm.
As for the chassis, the differences between the SRT 700 and SRT 700 X have not yet been published by QJ Motor. However, we do know that both will have a steel tubular frame, and that on the SRT 700 it is supported by a USD front fork, and a single rear shock - that being connected to the rear wheel via an aluminium swingarm - which offer 115mm and 50mm of wheel travel, respectively.
The wheels themselves are both 17 inches in diameter for the SRT 700, while Motorrad reports the SRT 700 X will run a 21-inch front, marking it out as the more off-road focused model. Therefore, it would be fair to assume the X will run suspension with greater wheel travel.
To stop, the SRT 700 relies on dual 320mm front discs and a 260mm rear disc with ABS in operation at both ends, while the tyres are tubeless (front 110/80ZR17, rear 150/70ZR17).
The SRT 700’s seat height is 825mm, while its wheelbase is 1,505mm, and its weight is 240kg when the 19.5-litre fuel tank is brimmed.
Currently, the SRT 700 is only shown on QJ Motor’s German and Italian websites, and the SRT 700 X only appears on the German site. Pricing is not mentioned on the Italian site, and the product pages on the German version are not accessible.
However, Motorrad reports the SRT 700 is priced at €6,999, which equates to around £6,150 at time of writing (January 2023). For the SRT 700 X, the price increases by €700.
