KTM brings new updates to the 890 Adventure for 2023
KTM has announced an update for the 890 Adventure for 2023, with new adjustability, added comfort, and of course updated graphics.
KTM has launched the 2023 890 Adventure with added structural strength in places, and new adjustability in the suspension.
The KTM 890 Adventure is certainly a well-established option among the middleweight adventure motorcycles, but for 2023 it gets a refresh from the Austrian factory.
This is not a new model, but an update to the existing version. Firstly, KTM has integrated the front mask of the motorcycle with a new, reinforced fairing, designed to increase the load-bearing capability for larger GPS devices.
Additionally, KTM has brought new adjustability to the 2023 890 Adventure, with an adjustable seat height that can go as low as 825mm, or down to 800mm with the seat-lowering kit; while the WP 43mm Apex forks now come with rebound and compression adjustability that can be accessed from the top caps.
Further, the rear shock features new settings that KTM says are “orientated for the wellbeing and demands of adventure riding.”
There is also a new ABS system which is more closely linked with the riding modes. This means that selecting the “Offroad” or “Rally” riding modes will automatically select the “Offroad” ABS setting.
When the 2023 KTM 790 Duke was recently announced, it was alongside a new “Demo Mode” which will allow owners of the bike to try out the bike’s various electronic settings on a trial basis, and they can select which ones to pay to install when that trial is up after 1,500km. The same trial mode will feature on the 2023 KTM 890 Adventure.
A new screen is also featured on the 2023 890 Adventure, one that is inspired by the 450 Rally, according to KTM, while the seat has a new soft foam structure, and comfort is also added by a slimmer front mudguard which KTM says improves aerodynamics and rain protection.
The TFT display also features updates, firstly to the screen glass which now offers improved scratch and glare resistance, while its operation has been simplified. It also has an automatically-adjusting back-lighting and “better synchronicity between the TFT and the KTMconnect App.”
Aesthetically, the 2023 890 Adventure comes with updated graphics that are colour-injected into the plastics for added resistance. On a slightly more practical note, there is a new aluminium engine and tank protector, a handlebar switch with hazard warning, and new off-road tyres from Pirelli’s Scorpion range (their STRs, specifically).
2023 KTM 890 ADVENTURE Highlights:
