New 2023 KTM 1290 Super Adventure S to arrive in January
The 2023 KTM 1290 Super Adventure S has been revealed, with updates including reworked navigation and some new colour options.
KTM has revealed the 2023 KTM 1290 Super Adventure S, with updated visuals and ergonomic tweaks.
The KTM 1290 platform has long been the brand’s flagship, and for 2023 it sees updates with the Super Adventure S model.
There is no major overhaul here, just a refinement of what was already an established motorcycle in the heavyweight adventure category.
Included in the updates is a revised aluminium subframe that offers a seat height which is adjustable between 849mm and 869mm, while the navigation software has also been updated with what KTM calls ‘Turn-by-Turn+’ navigation.
For 2023, there are also optional additions, such as an electronics pack, Quickshifter+, and WP Suspension Pro “among other upgrades,” KTM says.
One thing which has appeared on other 2023 KTM models, including the 790 Adventure and 890 Adventure, has been the new ‘Demo Mode’, allowing owners to trial the optional electronics options for the first 1,500km after they buy the bike before they are disabled. Re-enabling the individual modes included in the ‘Demo Mode’ requires a trip to the KTM dealer to confirm which ones the owner wants to keep enabled and then pay for those modes to be installed.
The 2023 KTM 1290 Super Adventure S, though, does not seem to have this ‘Demo Mode’, meaning all electronic modes available when you buy the bike will be available no matter how far you ride at no extra cost.
It does, though, have two new colour options, with an orange and black job, and a graded grey option.
2023 KTM 1290 Super Adventure S highlights:
- Two new colour schemes with black and orange as well as graded grey choices
- ‘Turn-by-Turn+’ guidance and more travel options
- Euro5 V-twin LC8 engine with 160 hp and 138 Nm of torque means a world without limits
- Lightweight ChroMo stainless steel chassis
- WP Semi-Active Suspension hardware
- Cutting-edge technology and Bosch 6D sensor to influence bike behaviour and ABS settings
- Ergonomics and bodywork emphasising control but also comfort and confidence; 849 or 869 mm seat height
- A host of optimised travel-minded features: illuminated switches, footpegs, stand, windshield, LED lights and simplistic but advanced dashboard interactivity
- Adaptive Cruise Control as standard
- Mitas Terra Force-R tyres, specialised for the KTM 1290 Super Adventure S
Pricing is not yet confirmed by KTM, but the 2023 1290 Super Adventure S will be available from January.
