Yamaha's retro MT-07 revealed

HERE are the the first clear pictures of a retro-styled version of Yamaha's MT-07 which insiders say is a 'teaser' for a production model.

The concept is expected to be unveiled tomorrow evening ahead of the Wheels & Waves custom bike festival in Biarritz, France, but in the meantime Yamaha has released a teaser video.

The two-minute clip shows legendary Japanese custom builder Shinya Kimura working on the machine as well as a clear view of the finished project, as shown in our still.

In also features close-up views, including one of the MT-07 dash seen through a cutaway section in the retro fairing screen.

We've compiled the best views into a gallery of stills below, but you can also watch the full video here.

Visordown is currently with Yamaha on a ride to the Wheels & Waves festival. Shinya Kimura is one of several well-known custom builders joining the ride, a strong indication that the concept we're going to see is the one in the video.

It will be unveiled as one of Yamaha's 'Yard Built Specials', which have previously served as previews of new editons of production models, as in the case of the XV950 Racer.

A Yamaha source told Visordown tonight: 'It's usually as close to the production model it becomes to be considered a teaser.'
