Norton Motorcycles has taken another step towards launching its all-new 1200cc sportsbike, with TVS Motor Company boss Sudarshan Venu getting personally involved in the development process.

The bike, which is due to be officially unveiled at EICMA 2025 in November, is being positioned as a flagship machine for the revived British brand. And with Venu himself swinging a leg over the prototype for a private test ride in the UK, the project has now entered the final stages of its development.

According to Norton, the test ride provided valuable feedback directly from the top of TVS, a sign of just how important this model is for both the brand and its Indian parent company. Venu reportedly shared his impressions with Norton CTO Brian Gillen and the core R&D team, helping to refine the final package ahead of its full reveal.

Norton claims the new superbike has been engineered to hit “the highest standards of engineering, design, detail and dynamism”, a big statement for a company still rebuilding its reputation after a turbulent few years under previous ownership.

We can’t tell you too much about the bike, although it’s clear that the styling and aerodynamics of the front end have been heavily developed compared to the V4SV we tested a few years ago. With Brian Gillen, the man leading the new bike's technical design, now wielding his pen (or iPad, probably), it’s clear the next-generation V4 will be going a different direction from before.

The headlights are a totally different vibe from before, and instead of the slightly cute-looking lights of the old bike, the new ‘face’ of the Norton looks much more purposeful. Highlighting the new LED peepers are neat DRLs, and from what we can make out, it looks like the far more purposeful and less swooping than before. While we can’t see the rest of the bike’s fairing or bodywork in these images, it's clear that this more aggressive design language will echo through the rest of the bike.

For more technical details on the new model, we’ll have to sit tight. We will, as ever, be traipsing up and down the exhibition halls at EICMA this November. So you can be sure we’ll bring you all the news, specs and features as soon as we have it.

We’ll be watching closely.
